In social media, the rules are constantly changing.

When you’re busy running a business, it’s not always easy to keep on top of the latest updates or know how to maximize them. Don’t worry about that, because we keep up with the latest news and trends for you! We’ve sourced the latest and greatest social media news that you need to know about NOW.

Read on for our take on the Three Must-Read, All-New Social Media Announcements this week.

• Hurray! Twitter users are no longer constrained to just 140 characters, the company announced this week. While by now, we’ve all become fluent in getting the message across in 140 characters or less, we can breathe a little easier knowing there’s some extra space. Bring on the hashtags!

• Finally! In Instagram Stories, you can now upload any photo from your camera roll, not just those that were taken within the last 24 hours. Even though we had discovered some loopholes around the previous 24-hour rule, this new update will save ‘grammers extra steps, and, for digital marketers like us, will make planning client content a whole lot easier.

• Yes, or No? Facebook is launching easy Polling, with the option to add GIFs in profiles and pages. Now, when you go to create a status update, a poll option is included in the list, with the ability to attach a relevant image or GIF in each field. This encourages followers to get interactive with your posts. Using polling, you may even get some valuable feedback from your loyal fans. Read a full report on this here.
